How to Write a Eulogy

A eulogy is a heartfelt tribute that honours a loved one’s life. Here’s how to write one:

  1. Start with an Introduction – Mention your name and your relationship with the deceased.
  2. Share Personal Stories – Highlight memorable moments, achievements, or qualities that defined them.
  3. Include a Theme – Focus on key aspects like kindness, humour, or dedication to family.
  4. Express Gratitude – Acknowledge their impact on family and friends.
  5. End with a Meaningful Closing – A favourite quote, poem, or final words of farewell.

Keep it between 5-10 minutes, and speak from the heart. Practising aloud can help with delivery.
